From USA Today Best Selling Author Rebecca Shea. Undone is a companion novel to Unbreakable and is book 2 in the Unbreakable series. I’ve found it’s easier to share my body but not my soul. I need no one, yet I crave her. Self-assured and independent, she doesn’t need me—but she wants me, and undeniably I want her too. At war with myself as I battle the secrets of my past, I don’t know if I can allow her to see the darkest parts of me, the parts I’ve left untouched—undone. As she chips away at the walls I’ve built for years, I fear those secrets will hold me hostage from love—forever.

She’ll do whatever it takes to safeguard her people—even if that means hiring bodyguard Shane O’Rourke. He alone understands the demands of the fashion world, because he used to be one of Max’s top models—until she fired him. Unfortunately, the logistics of the job are a nightmare—as is the forced proximity to the sexiest, most challenging woman he's ever known. Despite Max’s number one rule not to date anyone she works with, soon she and Shane are as tangled up as the killer’s mind. Decades after the Holocaust, many assume that the churches in Germany resisted the Nazi regime. In fact, resistance was exceptional. Almost all Germans were Christians, and almost all Christians in Germany stood by, becoming intentionally or unintentionally complicit in Nazi policies and practices. In the early 1930s, a movement emerged within German Protestantism with the aim of fully integrating Nazi ideology, German national identity, and Christian faith. The Deutsche Christen, or "German Christians," as they were called, interpreted the Christian faith and the role of the church in society in service of the Nazi revolution. They married centuries-old Christian anti-Judaism to the Nazis' racial antisemitism and sought to eradicate all traces of Judaism from Christianity. The German Christian publication program, designed to advance their ideology, included books and pamphlets, radio talks and speeches, as well as liturgies and retranslations of Scripture. For the first time in English, Mary M. Solberg presents a selection of representative documents of the German Christians. Her introduction to the volume sets the historical context of the movement and offers short introductions to each of the specific readings. The collection includes key responses critical of the German Christians by Karl Barth and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, among others. Book jacket.

A new history of how one of the Renaissance’s preeminent cities lost its independence in the Italian Wars. In 1499, the duchy of Milan had known independence for one hundred years. But the turn of the sixteenth century saw the city battered by the Italian Wars. As the major powers of Europe battled for supremacy, Milan, viewed by contemporaries as the “key to Italy,” found itself wracked by a tug-of-war between French claimants and its ruling Sforza family. In just thirty years, the city endured nine changes of government before falling under three centuries of Habsburg dominion. John Gagné offers a new history of Milan’s demise as a sovereign state. His focus is not on the successive wars themselves but on the social disruption that resulted. Amid the political whiplash, the structures of not only government but also daily life broke down. The very meanings of time, space, and dynasty—and their importance to political authority—were rewritten. While the feudal relationships that formed the basis of property rights and the rule of law were shattered, refugees spread across the region. Exiles plotted to claw back what they had lost. Milan Undone is a rich and detailed story of harrowing events, but it is more than that. Gagné asks us to rethink the political legacy of the Renaissance: the cradle of the modern nation-state was also the deathbed of one of its most sophisticated precursors. In its wake came a kind of reversion—not self-rule but chaos and empire.

Calm Undone is a young adult novel that tackles many of the issues relevant to young people today (feelings of loss, a dawning sense of self, and the awakening of attraction) with a gentle, accepting approach. Seventeen-year-old Tyler wants three things from his summer at the family beach-house: Run along the beach to get ready for cross-country again in the fall. Wander the boardwalk with his cousin Liam. And more importantly, figure out how to move on with his life after his Dad's death from a car crash - one that Tyler survives. But nothing about this summer is right: Running isn't fun anymore. Mom spends hours alone in her room. Liam constantly ditches him to spend time with Melissa --- a girl he met on the beach. Which forces Tyler to spend time alone with Finn, a friend of Melissa's who surfs. At first, he feels abandoned, but Finn is easy going, interested in hearing Tyler talk about running, and the only person in his life that doesn't treat him like the "kid who lost his dad." All of which help Tyler realize that up to now, Dad had been the closest thing he had to a best friend, and in order to move on he has to accept the type of love those left in his life --- Mom, Liam, and even Finn --- have to offer.
